- Location: Faridabad, India Employment Type: Full-time Experience: 10+ years in industrial manufacturing, project management, or steel plant equipment Salary: Competitive, based on experience About Us: We are a leading rolling mill machinery manufacturer providing turnkey solutions to steel plants worldwide. With clients across India, the Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Europe, we specialize in manufacturing and installing hot rolling mills. As we scale our operations, we are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead our business, streamline processes, and drive operational efficiency. Job Overview: The General Manager (GM) will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, production, project execution, and business growth. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and strategic thinking to ensure seamless project execution while optimizing costs and improving efficiency. Key Responsibilities: 1. Operations & Manufacturing Management Oversee production planning, quality control, and supply chain management. Ensure timely and cost-effective manufacturing of rolling mill machinery. Implement lean manufacturing and process improvements to boost efficiency. Coordinate between engineering, procurement, and production teams for smooth workflow. 2. Project & Client Management Ensure on-time project execution for domestic and international clients. Oversee installation and commissioning of rolling mill projects. Troubleshoot technical and operational issues during project execution. Maintain strong relationships with key clients and vendors. 3. Business Growth & Strategy Work with directors to develop business expansion strategies. Identify new market opportunities and improve sales conversion. Improve vendor negotiations and reduce procurement costs. Implement new technologies and automation to stay competitive. 4. Team Leadership & Organizational Structure Build and manage a high-performing team across engineering, production, and project execution. Implement clear reporting structures and performance KPIs. Improve interdepartmental communication and collaboration. Train and mentor department heads to take on leadership roles. 5. Financial & Compliance Oversight Control operational costs and optimize profitability. Work with finance teams to manage budgets and cash flow. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and ISO requirements. Required Qualifications & Skills: 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, project execution, or steel plant equipment. B.Tech in Engineering AND/OR MBA in Operations/Project Management/Supply Chain Strong technical understanding of rolling mill machinery and heavy engineering. Proven leadership in managing large teams and cross-functional departments. Experience in vendor negotiations, cost control, and procurement strategy. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and ability to work with international clients. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or ERP systems is a plus.
