- Job Title: Pharmacist - Siddha and Ayurveda Hospital Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at a Siddha and Ayurveda Hospital. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of traditional medicinal practices, including Siddha and Ayurveda, and will be responsible for dispensing medicines, managing herbal and Ayurvedic medicines, providing guidance to patients, and ensuring that all pharmacy operations run smoothly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Dispense prescribed Ayurvedic, Siddha, and other traditional medicines to patients based on physician instructions. Ensure the safe and accurate preparation, dispensing, and storage of herbal medicines, and supplements. Assist patients by providing appropriate advice on proper usage, dosage, and any potential side effects or interactions of herbal remedies. Maintain and organize the pharmacy inventory of both Ayurvedic and modern medicines. Ensure all medicines, both herbal and conventional, are stored properly and meet regulatory standards for quality. Educate patients on preventative health measures and general wellness practices according to Siddha and Ayurvedic principles. Collaborate with healthcare providers to assess the suitability of prescribed treatments, ensuring that remedies align with Ayurvedic and Siddha protocols. Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in Ayurvedic and Siddha treatments, herbs, and practices. Manage the procurement of new medicines and products as required for the hospital. Maintain accurate records for prescriptions, sales, inventory, and other relevant documents. Perform regular checks on expiry dates, ensuring no expired products are dispensed. Adhere to ethical, legal, and regulatory standards while ensuring patient confidentiality and data privacy. Requirements: Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm/M.Pharm) from a recognized university. Additional certification or training in Ayurveda or Siddha medicine is an advantage. Prior experience working in a similar role, preferably in a hospital or Ayurvedic/Siddha setting. Knowledge of Ayurvedic and Siddha herbal medicines, treatments, and practices. Strong understanding of modern pharmaceutical practices alongside traditional remedies. Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex herbal treatments to patients. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with doctors, other healthcare providers, and the support staff. Knowledge of medical ethics, patient confidentiality, and regulatory requirements. Compassionate, caring, and patient-focused approach to healthcare. Preferred Qualifications: Certification or formal training in Ayurveda or Siddha medicine. Previous experience working in a healthcare facility focusing on traditional healing practices.
