Job Description
- This role is for one of the Weekday's clients We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer - I (Backend) to design, develop, and maintain backend systems that power our platform. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our systems are scalable, reliable, and secure. Your expertise in backend technologies and architectural patterns will drive the technical direction of our products and the overall engineering excellence. Key Responsibilities Architect and Develop: Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure backend systems using technologies like C#, ASP.NET, MongoDB, Postgres, and AWS services. Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor engineering teams, ensuring adherence to best practices in coding, architecture, and design. Developer Experience (DevEx): Enhance development workflows, tools, and code quality to improve developer productivity and satisfaction. Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions. Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure backend systems are highly available and reliable. Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and technologies, fostering a culture of innovation within the team. Code Reviews: Conduct detailed code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and compliance with best practices. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for backend systems. Qualifications Experience: 12+ years in backend development, with strong expertise in C#, ASP.NET, MongoDB, Postgres, and AWS services. Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of backend technologies and architectural patterns such as DDD, CQRS, Event Sourcing, and Clean Architecture. Leadership: Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to tackle complex technical challenges. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences. Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
