Job Description
- Job Title: QA Automation Engineer (Java, Selenium, API, Rest Assured, SQL) Location: Gurgaon Experience Level: 5 to 7 years Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using Java, Selenium, and Rest Assured. Perform API testing and ensure proper integration with the backend services. Leverage SQL for database validation and query execution. Develop test cases for functional, smoke, unit, acceptance, usability, and regression testing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on functional specifications and design appropriate acceptance tests. Perform testing in Agile environments and ensure quality at every stage of the SDLC. Hands-on experience with Version Control Software (SVN/GIT/ClearCase), and Project & Build Tools (Maven, ANT, Jenkins, SonarQube). Execute tests, log defects, escalate issues, and manage risks to deliver effective quality outcomes. Act as an individual contributor while ensuring adherence to best test practices and driving automation initiatives with a clear ROI. Engage with various stakeholders including development teams, business users, and QA management to communicate progress and key findings. Provide consistent and thorough reporting, including defect logging and status updates to management. Actively contribute to process improvements in testing methodologies, tools, and practices. Essential Skills & Experience: Expertise in test automation principles and experience with tools like Selenium, TestComplete, and Rest Assured. Strong working knowledge of SQL and experience in database testing. Solid exposure to AWS Cloud testing. Familiarity with Version Control systems such as SVN/GIT/ClearCase and proficiency with build tools such as Maven, ANT, and Jenkins. Understanding of various test methodologies including unit testing, smoke testing, functional testing (black box/white box), user acceptance testing, and usability testing. Solid experience in financial services or related domains, with a preference for candidates with experience in Pensions. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. Ability to understand functional specifications and translate them into test cases and acceptance criteria. Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels (technical and non-technical). Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results in a time-boxed testing environment. Ability to assess the severity of defects and provide clear, actionable reports. Additional Desirable Skills: Experience with Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline integration. Knowledge of SonarQube for code quality and analysis.
