Job Description
- Key Responsibilities: Traffic Coordination: Monitor and analyze traffic patterns to optimize delivery routes, reducing delays and improving fuel efficiency. Work closely with the logistics team to plan and adjust routes based on real-time traffic conditions. Identify potential traffic disruptions (e.g., road closures, accidents) and quickly devise alternative routes to keep shipments on schedule. Broker Liaison: Establish and maintain strong working relationships with transport brokers to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation services. Collaborate with brokers to secure vehicle availability for shipments and ensure seamless communication between all parties. Negotiate contracts, rates, and schedules with brokers to ensure optimal transportation solutions for the supply chain. Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to brokered transport services, including delays, damages, or route changes. Supply Chain Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with the internal logistics team to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods. Communicate frequently with transport brokers to align vehicle schedules, manage delays, and handle transportation updates. Keep accurate records of transportation details, broker agreements, and traffic-related issues. Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution: Address any transportation or traffic-related disruptions quickly, ensuring minimal impact on delivery timelines. Work with brokers to resolve disputes or delays in transportation and ensure vehicles are rerouted or rescheduled as necessary. Develop strategies to mitigate potential traffic disruptions before they affect the supply chain. Skills and Qualifications: In-depth knowledge of traffic patterns, road conditions, and transportation regulations. Strong connections with transport brokers and experience in negotiating and managing relationships. Proven ability to solve problems and adapt to changing traffic conditions and logistical challenges. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage relationships effectively. Strong organizational skills and the ability to track multiple shipments and logistics operations at once. Understanding of supply chain logistics and transportation management. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in traffic coordination, route planning, or transportation logistics. Familiarity with transport management software or GPS tracking systems. Previous experience working directly with brokers or in a role involving transportation procurement.
