- Job Description (JD) - Head of IT Architecture Position Title: Head of IT Architecture Location: Rashmi Group, Kharagpur Department: Information Technology Reporting To: Chief Information Officer (CIO) or Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Employment Type: Full-time Job Overview: As the Head of IT Architecture, you will be responsible for establishing and leading the IT architecture function at Rashmi Group, which involves developing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performing IT systems and infrastructures. This strategic leadership role demands a strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, business processes, and cutting-edge technologies. You will be instrumental in designing the architecture of IT systems that meet the organization's current and future business needs. The Head of IT Architecture will ensure that IT strategies align with the companys overall business objectives, and drive the innovation of technology solutions. You will also serve as a technical leader, guiding your team to implement best practices in IT architecture and ensuring adherence to industry standards and governance frameworks. This role requires not only deep technical knowledge but also a strong ability to communicate complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders, manage multi-disciplinary teams, and handle a range of organizational challenges. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Strategic Vision: Develop and drive IT architecture strategy that aligns with Rashmi Groups overall business strategy and future growth initiatives. Establish and communicate a clear vision for the IT architecture function, providing leadership and direction across teams and departments. Collaborate with C-suite executives (CEO, CTO, CIO, etc.) to define the strategic direction of IT systems and technology innovations. Enterprise Architecture Design and Management: Lead the design of scalable and resilient IT architecture that supports the current and future needs of the organization. Define architecture principles and guidelines that support consistency, scalability, and efficiency across various IT projects. Ensure the architecture is optimized for security, performance, cost-efficiency, and agility. Innovation and Technology Trends: Stay ahead of emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry trends to propose forward-looking IT solutions and platforms. Identify and evaluate new technologies (cloud computing, big data, AI, etc.) and recommend their adoption based on business needs. Drive innovation initiatives that enhance business processes and create competitive advantages. Governance and Compliance: Implement architecture governance processes and ensure they are followed across all IT development activities to maintain consistency and compliance. Oversee adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies related to architecture and technology infrastructure. Develop and maintain security and data privacy protocols as part of the IT architecture to mitigate risks and vulnerabilities. Team Management and Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of IT architects and engineers, promoting continuous learning and skills development. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment, ensuring the team remains agile and adaptable to evolving business and technological demands. Provide coaching and support to your team in solving complex technical problems and guiding them in developing architectural solutions. System Integration and Optimization: Oversee the integration of existing systems with new platforms, ensuring seamless data flow, minimal disruption, and high interoperability. Lead efforts to optimize system performance across the IT infrastructure to reduce redundancies, enhance scalability, and improve cost-effectiveness. Establish a systematic approach for system updates, patches, and version control. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other departments such as Operations, HR, Finance, and Sales to understand their needs and align IT systems to meet those objectives. Engage with external vendors and technology partners to ensure best practices and the right tools and technologies are integrated into the enterprise. Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to solve complex business challenges with innovative IT solutions. Risk Management and Disaster Recovery: Identify and assess technical risks associated with IT infrastructure and recommend mitigation strategies. Develop and implement disaster recovery plans, ensuring business continuity in case of system failures or cyber-attacks. Regularly test and update risk management frameworks to address new and emerging threats. Budgeting and Cost Management: Manage the budget for IT architecture and ensure projects are completed within financial constraints. Ensure the efficient allocation of resources and effective cost management across the architecture function. Reporting and Documentation: Regularly report to senior management on the status of architecture initiatives, project timelines, budget adherence, and risk mitigation. Maintain comprehensive documentation of architecture frameworks, standards, and roadmaps to ensure knowledge transfer and alignment across teams. Required Skills & Qualifications: Education: A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Masters degree or relevant certifications (TOGAF, ITIL, etc.) would be an added advantage. Experience: At least 12-15 years of experience in IT architecture, with 5 years in a leadership role managing architecture teams. Expertise: Proven experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or others, and familiarity with industry best practices. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), data architecture, enterprise applications, infrastructure design, and security protocols. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of highly skilled technical professionals. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Problem-Solving: Ability to approach problems strategically and innovatively, managing complexities and delivering solutions that meet business objectives.
