- About Us We are a Bangalore/Bay Area based networking startup building network observability and co-pilot system to improve the network reliability and reduce the time to action for our customers. The founding team has a cumulative 45 years of experience in networking industry. Role Overview As a Networking & Engineer - SDE-2 you will work on the core part of our data collection and troubleshooting agent powering our observability and co-pilot platform. You will design and build high performance, low memory and CPU utilizing agents to discover the network devices, collect health metrics, build network topology and do troubleshooting, etc. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, low-resource consuming agents for data collection and troubleshooting. Architect and develop easy-to-use installation packages and processes for IT Administrators, ensuring seamless deployment across diverse customer environments. Design a generalized and extensible system architecture capable of handling heterogeneous network devices and data types, minimizing the need for special-case coding. Proactively identify and address potential security vulnerabilities in the developed agents and systems, adhering to security best practices and ensuring the safety of both the customer and our infrastructure. Develop cross-platform compatibility for agents (Linux, Windows, Mac, embedded OS) and optimize for constrained environments. Partner with QA teams to build testing frameworks for simulating network failures, resource constraints, and attack vectors. Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and advocate for best practices in systems programming, networking protocols (SNMP, NetFlow), and observability (metrics, logs). Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field. 4 to 7 years of experience in network and system programming domain. Proficiency in Rust (or C/C++ with willingness to learn Rust) for systems-level programming and working knowledge of Python. Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, SNMP, ARP, SSH, etc.) Knowledge of network device ecosystems (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, etc) Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., OpenSSL, WireGuard) and hardening techniques (sandboxing, privilege separation). Familiarity with agent-based architectures. Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.,
