Job Description
Job purpose:
Provide technical leadership, setting architectural direction, and ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of data for analytics, machine learning, and other business needs.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in data engineering.
- Must have extensive hands-on experience with Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse/Fabric, Databricks, etc.) for data engineering.
- Must have extensive hands-on experience with Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse/Fabric, Databricks, etc.) for data engineering.
- Must have strong hands-on experience in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines using various ETL/ELT tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL).
- Must have proven hands-on experience in data migration projects, including data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Solid understanding of database systems (both relational and NoSQL).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate technical teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of Data Engineers.
- Define and implement the data engineering strategy and architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust and efficient data pipelines using Cloud-based technologies.
- Oversee the management and optimization of our Big Data platforms and infrastructure.
- Drive data quality initiatives and implement data governance policies.
- Lead data migration projects, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and other stakeholders to understand their data requirements and provide appropriate solutions.
- Evaluate and adopt new data engineering tools and technologies.
- Ensure adherence to best practices for data security and compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues.
- Mentor and coach junior data engineering team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Participate in the planning and execution of data-related projects.
