Job Description

Role: Staff Nurse

Location: Dwarka, Delhi

 

What Youll Do:

 

  • Takes the nursing history, summarizes data, and states nursing diagnoses/ patient care needs. 
  • Observes and records signs, symptoms, and behaviours, including the physiological status of patients; reports assessment changes, to the concerned authority.
  • Follows policy and delivers designated nursing interventions to assigned patients that are consistent with the stated medical plan of care.
  • Performs admission, discharge and transfer procedures, and assists others with patient's activities and care.
  • Executes physician's orders for all assigned patients; safely and properly administers medications and treatments.
  • To be responsible for collection of specimens when ordered, ensuring correct labelling.
  • To be responsible for preparing assigned patients for programmed medical procedures.
  • To participate in specialists rounds and assist by giving relevant information as regards to nursing observations made on the residents.
  • To supervise the cleanliness of assigned area or the ward.
  • Carry out routine check at each handover that all equipments are in working order.
  • To ensure that all items used for residents inclusive of medications, surgical supplies are duly recorded and charged.
  • To carry out inventory on surgical items and equipment for each week.
  • Maintain residents safety by taking preventive measures against accidents.
  • Accurately records and reports incidents.
  • Follow proper infection control protocols.

  • GNM/B.Sc with Valid Delhi Nursing Council Registration
  • Basic computer operations (Typing, Email, MS-office usage)

Main Job Tasks

  • PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE CARE TO ASSIGNED PATIENTS. 
  • Takes the nursing history, summarizes data, and states nursing diagnoses/ patient care needs. 
  • Observes and records signs, symptoms, and behaviours, including the physiological status of patients; reports assessment changes, to the concerned authority.
  • Follows policy and delivers designated nursing interventions to assigned patients that are consistent with the stated medical plan of care.
  • Performs admission, discharge and transfer procedures, and assists others with patient's activities and care.
  • Executes physician's orders for all assigned patients; safely and properly administers medications and treatments.

  • To carry out inventory on surgical items and equipment for each week.
  • Maintain residents safety by taking preventive measures against accidents.
  • Accurately records and reports incidents.
  • To educate self about the chemo drugs and handling of chemo patients
  • To carry out the instructions about the mixing of chemo drugs
  • To be responsible for preparing assigned procedures such as bone marrow aspiration, Lumbar punctures, ascetic tapping ,pleural tapping, Foleys catheterisation.
  • Provide nursing care for patients undergoing surgery.
  • Assist surgeons in major or minor operations.
  • Maintain standards of nursing care in pre-operative and post-operative planning, implementation and patient care.
  • Adheres to surgical safety checklist and safe surgical practices
  • Follow procedure prospectus for all surgeries
  • Prepare the operating room for all emergency and scheduled procedures according to the surgeon.
  • Keep principles of aseptic techniques in performing surgical scrub, setting instruments, gowning, gloving as needed for the procedure.
  • Assist as a circulatory or scrub nurse.
  • Monitor and report all vital signs of patient.
  • Administer oxygen therapy and suctions of secretions if required for post-operative patients  in the recovery room
  • Report any untoward reactions of patient to the surgeon or anesthesiologist. 
  • Carry out all the doctors order and directions.
  • Give all psychological support to the patient and family.
  • Delay and lond procedures status updating to the family.
  • Liaison with technician for up keep of equipments.
  • Be responsible for instrument sterilization and maintenance.
  • Patient receiving and handing over protocols to be adhered.
  • Checking expiry items once in a week.
  • Initial Patient handling to explain charges System data entry
  • Document collection and verification (including for insurance) before admission Cash/ card/ other instrument payment collection
  • Maintain registers for credit card, discharge etc. for reference
  • Maintain internal billing records - collection and remittance reports
  • Prepare provisional bills with break up for patients (estimates) both for interim and final discharge Verification and rectification of bills if needed Balance reciepts and payments as per SOP Co-ordination between admission and billing counter
  • Co-ordination with insurance company, healthcare provider, and patient to get a claim processed and paid Doctor clarification related to patient charges and professional fees
  • Escalation resolution of process and system related queries Orientation program for new joinees & nursing personnel related to billing
  • Receive vendor bills, verify the same and issue the payment to vendors on a timely basis
  • Pass the GRIR
  • Prepare credit/debit note for vendors
  • Schedule for audit expenses as per process
  • Perform vendor reconciliation ageing and advance settlement activities
  • Perform Hospital Information System to SAP reconciliation
  • Arrange and file all the documents related to payables
  • Process and manage import of medical equipments including clearance
  • procedure from customs.
  • Maintain import records, requisitions, quotations, master files and
  • supplier files.
  • Get approval from the technical team before purchase of products.
  • Analyse purchase requisition with proper specs. And ensure timely
  • release of POs, with approvals from senior management.
  • Initiate and facilitate negotiation process with the vendors, as required.
  • Market survey of latest products /vendors available in the market as
  • substitute for the existing product /vendors with increased features/cost
  • effective and rating the vendors accordingly.
  • Review and manage warranty issues & AMCs.
  • Co-ordinate with Finance for vendor delayed payments, arranging bank
  • guarantees, letter of credit
  • Orientation and Technical training to team members
  • Compounding and/or dispensing prescription medications
  • Providing pharmaceutical information to healthcare professionals
  • Monitoring customers drug therapies to avoid interactions with other medications
  • Providing pharmaceutical expertise to customers on the safe use of medications
  • Reviewing prescriptions
