Role & responsibilities
Head of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing plants, ensuring that production processes, safety and quality standards, and operational efficiencies meet the companys strategic objectives. He/she will play a crucial role in driving operational excellence, managing cross-functional teams, and enhancing profitability. This leadership role involves managing large-scale manufacturing units, streamlining operational processes, and aligning the organizations goals with business imperatives.
Strategic Planning & Execution: Collaborate with CEO and other senior leaders to define and implement the companys strategic goals and objectives.
Operations Management: Oversee the complete production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Manage manufacturing facilities, ensuring the achievement of production targets, timely delivery, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Optimize the use of resources (manpower, materials, machinery) and drive process improvements to maximize operational efficiency.
Supply Chain & Logistics Management: Oversee supply chain management, from procurement of raw materials to delivery of finished goods. Ensure timely sourcing and efficient movement of materials and products, with a focus on reducing lead times and optimizing inventory levels.
Safety & Quality Compliance: Ensure zero non-compliance issues related to industry regulations, safety standards, and quality certifications. Maintain a safe working environment with no workplace accidents. Drives initiatives to improve product quality, reduce defects, and maintain certification standards (e.g., ISO) Implement Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other quality management systems to streamline operations.
Budgeting & Financial Performance: Develop and manage the operational budget, ensuring adherence to cost controls and resource allocation. Monitor key financial metrics, including production costs, capital expenditures, and
profit margins.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements, directly contributing to the bottom line.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks, including supply chain disruptions, machinery breakdowns, and safety hazards.
Technology & Innovation: Leverage emerging technologies to improve operational performance, including automation and robotics, that enhance manufacturing processes and competitive advantage.
Customer & Stakeholder Relations: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to align production schedules with customer demand. Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, and suppliers.
Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the operations team, including production managers, industrial engineers, and support staff. Develop and manage key operational personnel, providing training, mentorship, and career development. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and high performance within the operational teams.
