Roku Bright Script Engineer @ Trigent

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Roku Bright Script Engineer to develop and enhance client applications using Bright Script and the Roku Scene Graph SDK. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in client-side development and a deep understanding of streaming technologies, including Roku Pay, Google Analytics, Youbora, and deployment of Roku channels on the Roku Store.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance client applications using BrightScript and Roku SceneGraph SDK.
• Integrate and manage Roku Pay for in-app purchases and subscriptions.
• Implement and monitor Google Analytics and Youbora for performance tracking and user behaviour analysis.
• Contribute to new application features, including onboarding, UI/UX improvements, analytics, and video playback experiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and device limitations.
• Ensure compliance with Roku's hardware and firmware requirements.
• Debug, optimize, and enhance existing Roku applications.
• Deploy and manage Roku channels on the Roku Store.
• Stay updated with Roku development best practices.

Requirements:

• Brightscript knowledge
• Proficiency in designing and developing reusable utilities and UI components.
• Strong research and problem-solving skills to learn new technologies.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail and communicate technically with customer
• Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to work independently.

Nice to Have:

• Experience creating rich, performant user interfaces, including pixel-perfect designs and animations.
• Knowledge of UI-level code patterns to present data-driven UX.
• Experience in set-top box or Smart TV development and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with devices with varying performance and capabilities.
• Experience with configuration-driven development and performance optimization techniques.
• Experience with unit testing and related patterns.
