Job Title: Technical Support Engineer Automation

Location: Chennai
Experience: 12 Years
Qualification: B.E. in Instrumentation, Control Engineering, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering
Department: Global Customer Support (GCS)

.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support for hardware, software, and application issues
• Analyze and troubleshoot DCS, PLC, and Safety system problems
• Communicate solutions via phone, email, and web
• Reproduce customer issues in lab environments for accurate diagnostics
• Escalate critical bugs and issues to the development team
• Manage TAC lab assets and assist in system setups for issue simulation
• Maintain professional communication with global clients and internal teams

Key Skills Required

• Knowledge of DCS, PLC, and Safety Systems
• Troubleshooting and diagnostics in automation systems
• Familiarity with communication protocols: OPC, Modbus, RS232/485
• Basic networking knowledge
• Programming skills in Linux, Python, or C (preferred)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to analyze technical problems and work independent
