 Field Engineer - Desktop Support

Job Description

Responsibilities:


  • Address user tickets regarding hardware, software, and networking issues promptly and effectively.
  • Walk customers through the process of installing applications and computer peripherals, ensuring a clear understanding.
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting sessions and provide clear technical instructions to resolve issues.
  • Customize desktop applications to meet specific user needs and preferences.
  • Record technical issues and solutions in logs for future reference and analysis
  • Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are functional and satisfactory.
  • Report customer feedback and potential product requests to improve services and products.
  • Assist in creating technical documentation and manuals for user reference.
  • Manage asset inventory, tracking hardware and software assets efficiently.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in desktop support or a technical support role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with common software applications, hardware components, and networking concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with users effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified) are a plus.
