Job Description
Position: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Mahbubnagar
Experience: 5 to 10 Years
Salary Range: 40,000 - 45,000 per Month
Key Responsibilities:
We are hiring an experienced and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join our team for railway bridges and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity estimation, cost control, and contract management for railway - bridges,. This role demands attention to detail, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work closely with engineering and execution teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review pre-bid tender documents and assist in cost estimation for railway bridges, and allied civil structures.
- Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQs) for railway bridges and associated structures.
- Develop typical cross-sections, detailed drawings, and layouts using AutoCAD.
- Calculate quantities for earthwork, concrete, reinforcement steel, and other construction materials.
- Conduct material take-offs, budgeting, and cost planning for tenders and ongoing projects.
- Analyze terms & conditions of tenders, including technical and commercial clauses.
- Assist in post-tender submission activities including clarifications, negotiations, and documentation.
- Monitor changes to scope and prepare variation proposals with appropriate cost implications.
- Verify and certify subcontractor bills, measurements, and site progress reports.
- Maintain proper documentation of all project records, drawings, and commercial communications.
- Support project management in budget control, financial reporting, and progress tracking.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal departments for approvals and site requirements.
- Undertake any other work assigned by superiors related to costing, contracts, or documentation.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in railway infrastructure, bridge works.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and quantity surveying software (e.g., Candy, CostX).
- Familiar with IRC, IS codes, and Indian Railways specifications.
- Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, rate analysis, and construction techniques.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience with government tendering procedures and EPC/Turnkey projects preferred.
Preferred:
- Experience with organizations like RVNL, DFCCIL, IRCON, or Indian Railways.
- Familiarity with South Central Railway project standards and regional practices.
- Knowledge of SAP, ERP systems, or digital project management tools is a plus.
