Job Description:


We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Intelligence (BI) Architect with a focus

on the apparel industry to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for

architecting, developing, and deploying business intelligence solutions that empower decision-

making using Power BI and AWS Redshift. This position requires a deep understanding of the

apparel sectors unique data challenges, such as inventory management, supply chain

analytics, sales forecasting, and customer insights, to deliver actionable and impactful BI

solutions.

As a Business Intelligence Architect, you will design and implement end-to-end BI architectures

that optimize reporting and analytics across various business functions, leveraging both Power

BI and AWS Redshift. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our data

platforms and dashboards are aligned with the specific needs of the apparel business.


Key Responsibilities:

BI Architecture Design & Implementation:

  • Lead the design, architecture, and development of Power BI-based dashboards

and reports tailored to the apparel industry, including inventory analysis, sales

trends, customer behavior, and product performance.

  • Architect data models and design data pipelines in AWS Redshift to handle large

datasets, ensuring scalability and performance for apparel-specific metrics.

  • Ensure seamless integration of data from various sources such as point-of-sale

(POS) systems, inventory management systems, ERP systems, and third-party

data providers.

Power BI Development:

  • Build and optimize Power BI reports and dashboards focused on key apparel

business functions, such as product lifecycle management, seasonality trends,

and demand forecasting.

  • Implement advanced Power BI features (e.g., DAX, Power Query, Power BI

Service, and Power BI Embedded) to enhance reporting capabilities for apparel-

related KPIs.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, including product managers, supply

chain teams, and marketing departments, to ensure the dashboards meet

operational and strategic needs.

Cloud Data Platform Expertise:

  • Use AWS Redshift, S3, and other AWS services to architect scalable, reliable,

and secure data storage solutions.

  • Leverage AWS Glue for ETL jobs and Redshift Spectrum for querying large

datasets from S3, enabling deeper analytics on historical sales data, inventory

movement, and customer preferences.

Apparel Industry Focus:

  • Apply domain knowledge of the apparel industry to design BI solutions that

address industry-specific challenges, such as demand forecasting, supply chain

optimization, and product assortment planning.

  • Develop solutions to track and report on metrics like inventory turnover, sell-

through rates, stockouts, seasonality, and margin analysis.

  • Integrate external data sources like fashion trends, weather patterns, and market

reports to improve demand forecasting and product planning.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, marketing, sales,

and finance, to understand their needs and deliver impactful, actionable business

intelligence.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on improving

business processes, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making based

on data trends.

Performance Tuning & Optimization:

  • Monitor and optimize Power BI dashboards and AWS Redshift queries to

improve performance, particularly for large datasets typical of the apparel

industry.

  • Fine-tune Redshift queries, applying techniques such as distribution and sort

keys, compression, and materialized views to improve query speed.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics,

Information Technology, or a related field. A Masters degree is a plus.


Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence architecture and development,

with a strong focus on Power BI and AWS Redshift.

  • Proven experience in the apparel industry, with deep knowledge of industry-

specific data challenges, including inventory management, sales forecasting, and

supply chain analytics.

  • Expertise in creating data models and integrating data from multiple sources

(e.g., ERP, POS, and eCommerce) for comprehensive BI solutions.

  • Strong experience in AWS cloud services, especially Redshift, S3, Lambda, and

Glue.


Technical Skills:

  • Advanced expertise in Power BI, including report/dashboard creation, DAX,

Power Query, and Power BI Service.

  • Strong experience with AWS Redshift, including data modeling, performance

tuning, and query optimization.

  • Proficient in SQL and experience with data manipulation techniques for large-

scale data environments.

  • Knowledge of the apparel industrys key metrics and data flows, including

inventory analysis, sales performance, and forecasting.

  • Familiarity with ETL tools and data integration technologies (e.g., AWS Glue,

SSIS, Talend).

Additional Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into data-driven solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Project management skills, with a history of leading BI projects from inception to

delivery.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with ERP systems specific to the apparel industry (e.g., SAP Apparel &

Footwear, Oracle ERP, Microsoft Dynamics).

AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty, AWS Certified

Solutions Architect).

Experience with machine learning or advanced analytics techniques for demand

forecasting, pricing optimization, or customer segmentation.
