The Position

At Forvis Mazars, we help businesses make smarter decisions through financial modellingessentially building tailored models that reflect real-world financial situations. These models are used by companies to plan, forecast, and make strategic decisions such as raising capital, budgeting, valuing a business, or evaluating investment opportunities. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Modeller to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the creation, review, and analysis of financial models, particularly for capital investment projects. Additionally, the candidate will perform financial analysis of financial statements to support decision-making processes. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in finance, accounting, and advanced financial modelling, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Key Responsibilities


Financial Modelling:

  • Develop complex and robust financial models tailored to capital investment projects.
  • Ensure models are accurate, transparent, and meet project-specific requirements.
  • Incorporate sensitivity and scenario analysis to evaluate financial outcomes under varying assumptions.

Model Review and Analysis:

  • Perform in-depth reviews of financial models to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Analyse assumptions, inputs, and outputs to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on financial model analysis.

Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct detailed analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Evaluate financial performance and assess key metrics to support decision-making for capital investments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to present findings and insights effectively.

Capital Investment Projects:

  • Support the financial evaluation of capital investment opportunities.
  • Provide input into cost-benefit analysis, return on investment (ROI), and net present value (NPV) assessments.
  • Assist in preparing reports and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, finance teams, and external consultants.
  • Clearly communicate complex financial concepts to both financial and non-financial audiences.

Ideal Candidate


Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial modelling and financial analysis.
  • Prior experience working on capital investment projects is highly desirable.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (required).
  • Professional certifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or an equivalent qualification (preferred).

Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial modelling tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent understanding of financial principles, capital budgeting, and accounting practices.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
