    Job Description And Duties This competition is open to internal candidates. Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications from experienced professionals for an exciting opportunity to join CMTN as Associate Dean, Health Programs. The salary for this role is $131,362 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. The Associate Dean, Health Programs reports to the Dean, University Credit, Science, Health & Human Services. The Associate Dean is accountable for supporting all aspects of the portfolio, including the Northern Collaborative Baccalaureate Nursing Program-Registered Nurse (NCBNP), Access to Practical Nursing, Practical Nursing, Health Care Assistant, and other health-related programs. The Associate Dean also collaborates on University Credit Programs and Degree Partnerships with affiliated institutions. Health programs are located across CMTN's campuses situated throughout the Northwest region. The Associate Dean ensures the College provides quality, fiscally sound, accredited, and educational programming and services which are responsive to local communities. The Associate Dean is responsible for effective communication between students, staff, faculty, administration and external stakeholders, with an overarching mission to foster a culture that enables CMTN to become the college of choice for experiential place-based learning. As a member of CMTN's administrative team, the Associate Dean will model best practices and professionalism in the support of faculty and students. Key Responsibilities: The Associate Dean will support work in the portfolios academic areas, as well as: Serve as the connection for Northern Collaborative Baccalaureate Nursing Program-Registered Nurse with Northern Health, accrediting organizations, and other partner organizations; Liaise with community groups, including First Nations, non-profit organizations, school districts, and industry as part of a coordinated effort for ensuring the College is serving the communities" academic needs; Conduct program evaluation and research reports including overseeing accreditation reports as required to support the development and growth of the portfolio; Assist with personnel and student matters, including student conduct inquiries, human resources issues, and academic misconduct investigations; Serve as Acting Dean when the Dean is away; Handle student, staff and faculty conduct issues as they emerge, according to policies and procedures, and under the guidance of Human Resources and Student Services; Anticipate, mitigate, and manage emergent issues; Assist in developing and seeking new and renewed partnerships and funding, in collaboration with staff, for local programming opportunities in the region; and Represent the College within the catchment and occasionally beyond, including Smithers and Prince Rupert, attend local events, developing community relationships with local businesses and industries, the Chamber of Commerce, local Indigenous communities, the school district, etc. The Associate Dean will serve on Committees and Councils including, but not limited to: Education Management Council (EMC) Collaborative Administrative Team (CAT) The Associate Dean should be a visionary leader and change enabler who can foster a bold direction aligned with the College's strategic and academic plans, and possesses the collaborative skills and wherewithal to realize objectives. The ideal candidate can effectively manage at both the strategic and operational levels while working to improve institutional and academic programming, and student success. Well experienced with the complexities of the post-secondary landscape and possessing an inclusive leadership style, the Associate Dean should have a "can-do" attitude and live with a sense of adventure and integrity that aligns with CMTN's mission of becoming the college of choice for place-based, experiential learning. Experience and interest working with Indigenous learners and communities will be considered a significant asset. The Associate Dean should also be decisive, and possess sufficient business acumen and policy planning expertise to assist with complex decision-making, as well as guide colleagues and staff through challenging initiatives. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience: Completed bachelor and graduate/master's degrees in related field/s; Administrative leadership experience, preferably within a post-secondary environment and/or health care sector; Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in mitigating the barriers and challenges faced by students including Indigenous and at-risk populations in accessing post-secondary education; Familiar with experiential, place-based education is an asset; Excellent written, verbal and cross-cultural communication skills; Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, including team-building skills; and Demonstrated ability to support others in achieving a common goal and establishing a positive work environment; and A BC Class 5 drivers license is an asset.
