Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Perform manual testing on accounting and finance-related software applications.
- At least 1.5+ years of experience in manual software testing, preferably in accounting or financial systems.
- Develop, maintain, and execute test cases based on business requirements and user stories.
- Validate features like general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, payroll, financial reporting, and tax calculations.
- Log and track defects using test management or issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product managers to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
- Perform regression testing and participate in system integration and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Validate data integrity between UI and database or reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) where applicable.
- Assist in creating test documentation and reports for internal and client use.
Preferred candidate profile
- Experience with ERP systems or accounting software like QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle Financials, or Xero.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Understanding of financial regulations and compliance.
