Mainframe Consultant / Functional Analyst (Banking) Locations: Chennai/Mumbai/Pune and Bangalore is Optional Primary Skill: Mainframe Consultant with Banking Domain experience (who holds Functional /BA Analyst + Loans knowledge will be added advantage) Job Description JD: Consultant/Functional Analyst Mainframe skills (COBOL/DB2/VSAM/JCL/CICS) + Banking Domain Projects + Strong hands-on development and support skills + Loan/Mortgage knowledge is good to have Role of a functional analyst revolves around understanding business needs, translating them into functional requirements, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration between business stakeholders and the development team to deliver a successful IT solution Some of the key (but not limited to) responsibilities are: Requirement gathering: In collaboration with the Feature Designer (Business Analyst) and other project stakeholders, such as project managers, subject matter experts, to understand and document requirements. Requirement analysis: Once the requirements are gathered, the functional analyst analyzes them to identify any inconsistencies, gaps, or conflicts. They ensure that the requirements are clear and complete. Functional Design: Based on the requirements, the functional analyst creates functional design specs. These outline how the system will meet the business needs and describe the expected behavior of each component, module, or feature. Documentation: The functional analyst is responsible for creating detailed documentation, which will serve as references for the development team, testers, and other project stakeholders. Collaboration with Development Team: The functional analyst works closely with the development team to communicate the requirements and provide clarifications when needed. They act as a bridge between the business stakeholders and the technical team, ensuring that the development aligns with the functional specifications. Testing Support: During the testing phase, the functional analyst assists the testing team by providing test cases, test scenarios, and guidance on expected system behavior. They may also participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and address any issues or defects discovered during testing.,
