Job Description

Job Title: Database Manager Reports To: COO Job Summary: The Database Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance, security, and accessibility of company databases. They ensure data integrity, optimize database performance, and support business operations through effective data management and analysis. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain database systems based on business requirements. Ensure database availability, security, and performance tuning. Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. Monitor database health, proactively addressing any performance or integrity issues. Develop procedures for data management, quality control, and database security. Coordinate with IT teams, software developers, and business stakeholders to ensure database support aligns with business needs. Manage user access permissions and roles across databases. Implement updates and patches to database software as needed. Lead and mentor database administrators (DBAs) and support staff. Prepare reports on database performance, incidents, and future enhancement plans. Stay current with database technology trends and recommend improvements. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Masters degree preferred). 5+ years of experience in database administration, management, or related roles. Experience with database design, data modelling, and performance tuning. Familiarity with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, etc.) is a plus. Knowledge of security and compliance standards. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. Good communication skills to work with cross-functional teams. Preferred Skills: Experience with automation tools for database management. Knowledge of big data technologies Certification in database systems,
