Job Title: Power BI DeveloperJob Description:
We are looking for a skilled Power BI Developer with expertise in Mortgage Services (Financial Service experience is also preferred) to join our data analytics team
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI, leveraging Mortgage expertise
This role requires strong data visualization skills, proficiency in SQL, and the ability to transform raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions
Key Responsibilities:
Report & Dashboard Development:Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements
Data Modeling:Create efficient data models in Power BIand integrate data from other sources
Performance Optimization:Ensure dashboards and reports are optimized for performance and scalability
Data Extraction & Transformation:Develop and optimize SQL queriesto extract and transform data
Collaboration:Work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and data engineers to understand reporting needs and deliver insightful visualizations
Security & Governance:Implement role-based security models in Power BIand ensure compliance with data governance policies
Automation & Scheduling:Automate data refreshes, report scheduling, and implement best practices for report distribution
Testing & Validation:Validate report accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data integrity
Documentation:Maintain documentation for dashboards, data models, and processes to support ongoing use and maintenance
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Power BIcreating dashboards, reports, and data visualizations
Strong knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)and Power Query (M language)
Expertise in Mortgage processes
Strong SQL skills
Experience working with data lakes, warehouses, and cloud-based databases
Knowledge of ETL processesand data integration techniques
Familiarity with Pythonor Azure Data Services(Data Factory, Synapse) is a plus
Financial Services experience is a plus
Professional Experience:
3+ years of experiencedeveloping Power BI reports and dashboards
Experience integrating Power BI with cloud platforms(Azure, AWS, or GCP)
Experience in performance tuning and optimization of Power BI reports and queries
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to translate business requirements into effective data visualizations
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft Power BI Certification(PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst) is a plus
Mortgage Experience
Experience with Python for data manipulation
Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
