Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Maintain effective liaison with government agencies to ensure compliance with statutory legislations applicable to the factory (excluding FDA) and internal standards, including Social, EHS, and other audits.
- Coordinate with the Project Department for obtaining project-related approvals and overseeing building maintenance activities.
- Execute various community development initiatives through CSR projects under Encube Community initiatives.
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness inside and outside factory premises in line with health and safety standards.
- Manage and provide authority and responsibility for Caliber QMS Software operations.
- Establish, maintain, and improve the Environmental Management System (EMS) as per ISO 14001 standards and Safety Management System procedures.
- Conduct training sessions on EHS policies, standards, SOPs, safety orientation for new hires, and maintain training documentation and assessments.
- Conduct and coordinate hazard assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and identify appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to mitigate workplace hazards.
- Periodically review and update the emergency preparedness plan, coordinate and conduct evacuation mock drills.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, identify job hazards and unsafe conditions, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant departments.
- Ensure EHS infrastructure is operational, properly maintained, and readily available at all times.
- Report all Safety and Environmental incidents promptly and maintain detailed incident records.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, dangerous occurrences, and occupational illnesses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Improve safe work conditions and safe working practices to have zero accidents and environment friendly operations.
- Participation in safety meetings, EHS programs and EHS events and proactively report and address EHS issues and Near Misses.
- Organize safety events, contests, competitions, safety day, display posters, articles, notices, poster and other programs for propagating safety awareness and safety culture.
Required Skills & Qualification:
- Bachelors Degree in Science/Engineering/Environmental Sciences or related field.
- Certification in Industrial Safety/Environment Management preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in EHS, statutory compliance, and liaison roles in a manufacturing setup.
