I suggest you go through our website www.modak.com. Role Overview:We are looking for a highly experienced and hands-on Lead Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate must have 8+ years of experience in data engineering with a strong background in Databricks, PySpark, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Deep understanding of the Medallion Architecture is essential, as well as the ability to lead and mentor a team of data engineers to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and manage scalable data pipelines using Databricks and PySpark.
- Architect data solutions using the Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).
- Lead the development of batch and real-time data processing systems.
- Drive best practices for data engineering, data quality, and governance.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs.
- Optimize data workflows and performance on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers.
- Ensure adherence to security and compliance standards in data engineering practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering roles.
- Expert-level proficiency in Databricks and PySpark.
- Deep knowledge of Medallion Architecture and Delta Lake.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and distributed data systems.
- Experience with CI/CD practices for data pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
