Work Timings - 2pm - 11pm

Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Perform desk research to source key data inputs for the model:
    • Researching and understanding company reported data thoroughly to find all relevant published data
    • Sourcing other publicly available information e.g. store numbers, online traffic, 3rd party estimates, management commentary, news stories
    • Monitoring key developments at retailers (e.g. acquisitions, strategic goals) and incorporating into our estimates
  • Updating the retailer models with this data, quarterly and annually
  • Building robust estimates by retail banner
  • Create basic models using proxy data / other sources to estimate GMV/revenue as required
  • Using all available data e.g. internal client data where available
  • Having a clear rationale for estimated data that we can defend to clients
  • Forecasting retailer and banner growth for the next 5 years based on management commentary and company performance
  • Interacting regularly with the Flywheel data lead clearly explaining work and capturing feedback
  • Clearly documenting sources for key data inputs and assumptions used for estimates
  • Spot any errors in the data and take appropriate measures to fix them.
  • Handling client data queries with clear understandable responses that answer the clients query
  • Responding and actioning Flywheel Data leads feedback correctly
  • Manipulating the retailer models to match reported actuals quickly and accurately
Qualifications

This may be the right role for you if you have.

  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial analysis, financial planning, or data modelling.
  • Proficiency in Excel, with experience in building basic financial models or working on FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis).
  • Highly numerate with a strong ability to interpret and analyse data.
  • Business degree or accounting qualification (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Ability to create revenue models and estimates in scenarios where no predefined process exists, using multiple datasets.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently on diverse retailer models with minimal guidance.
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking able to generate revenue estimates and clearly articulate the methodology used.
  • Solid research skills proficient in analysing company-reported data and identifying key insights from various sources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present findings effectively.
  • Passion for global retail, ecommerce, and company performance trends.
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
