Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Prepare the OT before surgeries by ensuring all equipment, instruments and suppliers are sterile and ready.
• Assist the surgical team during operations by passing instruments and supplies.
• Coordinate with the anesthetist regarding patient conditions and anesthesia requirements.
• Handle surgical speciments correctly and ensure proper documents.
• Support patients emotionally and physically pre- and post-surgery.
• Maintain accurate records of procedures, supplies used, and patient details.
• Perform counts of surgical instruments, sponges and needles with the surgical team.
• Provide post-operative care in the recovesry room, monitoring patients until they regain consciousness.
• Maintain OT inventory and requisition necessary supplies.
• Participate in continuous professional development and training.
