Job Description

Preparation of Sweets & Snacks:
Assist in the preparation of traditional Indian sweets such as laddoos, barfis, jalebis, halwas, gulab jamuns, and other festive items
  • Help in making popular savory snacks like samosas, kachoris, chivda, and pakoras
  • Ensure sweets are made to the desired consistency and flavor, following standardized recipes and traditional techniques
  • Kitchen Assistance:
    Assist in cleaning, chopping, and preparing ingredients for various sweet and savory preparations
  • Help with setting up ingredients and equipment required for cooking
  • Support senior chefs in the kitchen with other tasks like frying, mixing, and kneading dough, ensuring proper hygiene and safety standards are maintained
  • Cooking & Baking:
    Participate in the cooking and frying of sweets and snacks as directed by senior chefs
  • Monitor cooking temperatures and consistency to ensure dishes are cooked perfectly
  • Observe and learn different cooking techniques, from boiling and steaming to deep-frying and caramelizing
  • Maintaining Cleanliness & Hygiene:
    Ensure cleanliness and hygiene are maintained in the kitchen area, including utensils, equipment, and ingredients
  • Adhere to food safety standards, including proper storage of ingredients and handling of raw materials
  • Stock Management:
    Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing ingredients, ensuring all raw materials are fresh and used within their shelf life
  • Help maintain inventory of raw ingredients and assist in ordering supplies when needed
  • Learning & Development:
    Continuously learn new techniques and recipes related to Indian sweets and snacks
  • Stay updated with trends in the food industry, particularly in the halwai segment, to improve skill sets
  • Quality Control:
    Ensure that the quality of prepared sweets and snacks meets the desired standards of taste, texture, and presentation
  • Assist in plating and presentation of dishes for service
