Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications & Experience

Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:

• Option 1:

  • B.Tech. / B.E. or an equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering

  • With at least 1 year of relevant experience after graduation.

  • Candidates with an integrated M.Tech. / M.E. in Electrical Engineering are also eligible.

• Option 2:

  • 3-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering

  • With a minimum of 6 years of relevant post-diploma experience.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be assigned to the Electrical Maintenance Division and will be responsible for:

• Maintenance, design, estimation, execution, and troubleshooting related to:

  • HT/LT substations and electrical distribution systems

  • Pumping systems and electrical control panels

  • Project planning, cost estimation, execution, and billing

  • Renewable energy systems, ELU, heating systems, and other utility-related operations as required by the division

Desirable Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, engineering drawings, and general computer applications is highly desirable.

Compensation & Career Progression

• Initial Appointment:

  • Pay Level 6: 35,400 1,12,400

  • (Includes Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, and applicable DA on TA)

  • Appointed on a 3-year contract, as per institute norms.

• Career Progression:

  • Eligible for substantive appointment to Pay Level 7 (44,900 1,42,400) through internal placement under IIT Bombay's Recruitment Rules and Promotion Policy.
