- Position Description Software Engineer - Sitecore Business Description We want you to help us transform by: Working closely with business, project and application support SMEs to gather requirements, design and implement complex business application and continuous improvement solutions. Providing technical expertise on configurations and customizations in line with business needs, with a focus on delivering incremental value using Agile & DevSecOps software delivery principles. Ensuring Sitecore enhancements are built for scale to align with the growth of the organization while maintaining accuracy, security and integrity of data and minimizing technical debt. Upholding and maturing our software development practices including the use of source code control, automated testing and deployment approaches, test-case-based development, security by design and documentation. Working collaboratively with other teams members to advance the IT environment towards the business and IT strategic visions We will give you responsibility for: Using your knowledge and creativity to design and build innovative new solutions, you will be writing code, using out of the box configuration, and performing testing and debugging of Sitecore software. Managing end-to-end lifecycle for continuous improvement development and implementation of Sitecore enhancements whilst maintaining best practices of the platform. Troubleshooting system problems and escalating where necessary as well as conducting detailed root-cause analysis for service interruption, and recommending / establishing preventive measures Translating complex business processes and requirements into documented technical requirements and solution designs. Impact analysis, planning and delivery of technical work required for patches and upgrades Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders, business subject matter experts, project team members, and broader vendor and IT team members Critically evaluating and improving proposals, designs and code through peer-review Providing Sitecore subject matter expertise to projects and continuous improvement teams Assisting teams with embedding change in the business by contributing to appropriate communications, documentation and training materials as required. Importantly, you employ structure, initiative and rigour to break through ambiguity Have experience in defining, avoiding, and remediating technical debt. Additionally, you can readily articulate the differences between configuration and customisation and when each is appropriate (highly regarded) Have experience in service delivery, such as ITIL, in areas of change and release management, ensuring adherence to organisational processes Can work to key deadlines (e.g. project timeframes, transactional timeframes and regulatory deadlines) to deliver tasks and/or deliverables in a timely manner Understand BCP, quality, and compliance requirements for supported areas and can analyse risks to the environment. Understand and follow best practice and secure coding standards and development patterns, security by design and SDLC / DevSecOps methodologies (including but not limited the use of source code control, peer code review, test driven development and proper documentation practices.) We want you to bring and grow: Essential 5+ years experience as a Sitecore Developer / Engineer 2+ years of in-depth and hands on experience with Sitecore XP 10.x development Demonstrated experience with web development using C#, .NET, MVC, WCF and current Javascript frameworks Experience with HTML, Bootstrap, Next.js, JQuery and AJAX Experience implementing Web Services using SOAP or REST, as well as using existing Web services Strong understanding of integration concepts and experience in developing integrations between Sitecore and third party platform APIs Experience working in an agile DevSecOps environment utilitising Git and CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, Bamboo Experience working with collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence Demonstrated exceptional customer service, communication and collaboration skills with a variety of stakeholders with varying technical expertise Experience working independently and proactively whilst demonstrating impeccable risk identification/mitigation and time management skills Proven ability to write quality, fit-for-purpose documentation including, but not limited to, user stories, requirements, technical designs, release notes. Aptitude and passion for expanding your expertise as needed by a role and demonstrated self-commitment to maintaining your knowledge of emerging technologies, standards, and frameworks. Desired Sitecore XP 9/10 Certification Experience with Sitecore OrderCloud and XM Cloud will be highly regarded Team Development for Sitecore experience is preferred Knowledge of microservices architecture and API strategy development Experience working in scaled agile framework (SAFe) environments,
