Basic things (though it is not extremely necessary):
Experience in building products for business users (more than 3 years is a plus)
You should have built these products for these years. Spending time at an organization with a designation is not sufficient. So if you have been doing this but your primary role is something else, please apply.
Excellent communication (Written and Verbal)
You should love talking to engineers and designers
You should be an intuitive problem solver.
