Job Description
Job Title: Project Manager- Civil & Interior Works
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead and manage civil and interior construction projects from start to finish. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all work on-site and off-site. Your main goal will be to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and as per quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning
- Understand the scope of work for both civil (like RCC, brickwork, plastering) and interior (like flooring, false ceiling, partitions) works.
- Prepare a project timeline (schedule) using tools like MS Project or Excel.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, and vendors to finalize project details.
2. Team Management
- Manage a team of engineers, supervisors, and laborers.
- Assign daily tasks to site staff and ensure smooth communication among all teams.
- Motivate and guide the team to achieve project goals.
3. Site Supervision
- Visit the site daily to check progress and quality.
- Ensure work is done as per drawings, BOQ, and specifications.
- Solve any technical problems or site issues quickly.
4. Material Management
- Identify the materials needed for the project and prepare a material requirement list.
- Coordinate with purchase department or vendors for timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain proper stock records and minimize wastage.
5. Budget and Cost Control
- Monitor project costs and keep them within approved budgets.
- Prepare and review contractor/vendor bills.
- Identify and reduce unnecessary expenses.
6. Quality and Safety
- Ensure that all work is done as per industry quality standards.
- Follow safety rules and make sure all workers wear protective gear.
- Arrange for regular safety drills and toolbox talks.
7. Client and Stakeholder Communication
- Regularly update the client about project progress.
- Attend meetings with consultants, architects, and clients.
- Handle changes in project scope (variation works) and get client approvals.
8. Documentation and Reporting
- Keep daily records of work progress, manpower, and materials.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports for management and clients.
- Ensure all project documentation is properly maintained.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Interior Design (or similar).
- Minimum 510 years of experience in handling civil and interior projects.
- Good knowledge of construction drawings, BOQ, and specifications.
- Ability to use software like AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Project.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualities:
- Attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of modern construction techniques and materials.
