Role & responsibilities
Job summary:
The ideal candidate will work closely with technical teams, stakeholders, data analysts, engineers, and data scientists to define, prioritize, and deliver Data & Integrations products that align with business goals. This role requires a deep understanding of Data & Integration principles and solutions to drive strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring that data products deliver actionable insights and measurable value.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and mitigate technical risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide training and support to other team members on best practices and tools for cloud platforms and system integration.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the architecture team.
- Advise on vendor selection and vendor performance for outsourced solution architects.
- Experience building up a new team of technology professionals
- Experience leading a team that drives digital transformation throughout the business
- Deep knowledge of cloud architecture, cloud native patterns, and cloud computing capabilities especially as offered by AWS
- Significant technical expertise in Cloud Computing technologies, scripting languages,integrating 3rd party monitoring tools, encryption tools and best practices, and forensics
- Implementation experience with enterprise security solutions such as WAF, IDS/IPS, Anti-DDOS, and SIEM
- Working knowledge of common and industry standard cloud-native/cloud-friendly authentication mechanisms (OAuth, OpenID, etc.)
- Experience with deployment orchestration, automation, and security configuration management (CircleCI, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.)
- Strong skills and experience in Analytics Cloud migration and implementation, AWS
- services related to analytics, AI/ML, CI/CD
- Experience developing highly scalable applications using service-oriented, microservice, and/or RESTful
- API-based architectures at an enterprise scale
- Experience in messaging platforms, protocols, and technologies
- Design for failover, high availability, MTTR, MTTF and MTBF
- Experience in designing and implementation of automated backup and restoration of application/web servers/databases/data lakes
- Experience in networking, including security analysis, firewall configuration, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience with container technologies (AWS ECS/EKS/Fargate, Kubernetes, etc) as well as AWS serverless technologies and architecture patterns
- Experience in using AWS Key management systems (KMS)
- Familiarity with service Mesh technologies (App mesh, Istio, Envoy, Consul, etc)
Preferred candidate profile
Required Skills:
- 4 to 7 years in the Data Engineering domain
- Strong experience in AWS cloud
- 6+ years of hands-on, enterprise/professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of system design and architecture experience.
- 3+ years of engineering/development team leadership experience (Team Lead, Eng. Mgr, or similar)
- Proficiency designing, implementing, and operating software solutions for process automation, data transformation, data pipelines (Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions, Boomi, etc.)
