Job Description
- Job Purpose (Significance of the Role & Objectives) Your role involves testing electric vehicle components like batteries and motors. You'll work with a team to create and conduct tests, ensuring our technology is durable and safe. Your job is to analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and help improve our products. Key Responsibilities and Deliverables Develop and implement tests for electric vehicle powertrain technologies with fellow design and test engineers, including but not limited to vehicle HV batteries, and HV motors catering to different R&D applications. Develop test plans as per certification standards. Work directly with design engineers/managers to create design validation test plans abuse case testing of battery packs on test benches, and loaded tests for motors. Drive the newly developed prototypes in controlled environments for designated test cycles to validate the durability and reliability of the powertrain as a whole. Perform system and vehicle level validation under dynamic and environmental conditions to replicate actual real-world conditions based on the application/project under test. Work with design and development engineers to validate and refine models/algorithms, and document the issues observed during testing. Analyze test data, and write and review test reports. Investigate the root cause of failures and help to drive product improvement. Help certification team with system/vehicle level certification of different systems, and vehicle level certification. Desired Qualifications: Required Qualification, Knowledge, and Experience BS/MS/BTech/MTech degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering. 04 - 08 years of experience in physical testing and analysis of mechanical, thermal, or electrical systems for 4W EVs (car, bus etc.). Preferred experience of vehicle level testing. Prior knowledge and experience in making test plans (DVPRs) based on SAE, ISO, and AIS standards. Automotive component/system testing experience, including certification testing. Preferred knowledge of respective certification/homologation tests. Experience with Python, MATLAB, or other data acquisition and analysis software. Experience creating and executing design validation plans and test methods to validate performance requirements; And reviewing test reports, and escalation of issues. Experience in Automotive OEMs working on the development, and manufacturing of Electric 4W Vehicles a must. Experience in development and execution of DVP&Rs, DFMEAs preferred. Experience in functionality, safety and performance testing of High Voltage Battery Packs, Electric Motors Experience in performing tests on EV standards AIS, ISO, SAE preferred.
