General Database administration team manage infrastructure and data-center operations for Oracle database and Engineered based environment. Effectively plan, install, configure and optimize the IT infrastructure to consistently achieve high availability, performance and Security. The basic functions include creation, management, maintenance of application database, building of data & process models, construction of data dictionaries, setting up application user accounts & access profile, monitoring database performance, optimizing & fine tuning databases to improve system response, installation of database upgrades, conversion / migrate of operational applications to new environment, implementation of contingency procedures to safeguard installation from disasters. ** Proven Industry certifications are mandatory. ** Seniority in Engineered system (ASM, RAC) is a Must (Super Cluster & Exadata and ZFS). ** Seniority in Data ware house is a Must Core Qualifications Excellent knowledge and experience in Database and application server. Oracle Certified Professional certification (OCP certification is mandatory) Oracle Database experience to include versions 10g, 11g & 12c. Backup & Recovery Manager (RMAN) , Automatic Storage Management (ASM) Developing, documenting and enforcing DBA standards. Experience with expert level skills in the SQL language; experience with data modeling; experience with Oracle advanced replication, streams or Golden Gate replication , Oracle data guard, audit vault, Performance Tuning and Database Security. Experience with data migration, data cleansing and data scrubbing. Provides recommendations to CLIENT management, Technical Support Services as to necessary performance and productivity enhancements related to Database use and services. Responsible in developing Infrastructure Database architecture by designing and analyzing systems & database requirements and by using current database administration methods and technologies provided by CLIENT. Provides technical assistance to vendors in identifying and troubleshooting Database infrastructure problems. Analyze business information, develop data and process models ensuring systems integrity. Prepare scripts to create application databases, review database, and prepare scripts for cleansing and data loading. Workout database size, application size, number of users, number of transactions, size of transaction, and determines memory, disk space, and processor & communication infrastructure requirements. Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle software and related products Design the database schema and create any necessary database objects. Formulate optimal application SQL. Work closely with application developers and system administrators to ensure all database needs are being met. Evaluate Oracle features and Oracle related products Establish and maintain database backup and recovery policies and procedures Assisting in Database design and implementation Implement and maintain database security and integrity of data (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges) Perform database, application server tuning and performance monitoring Perform application tuning and performance monitoring Setup and maintain documentation and standards Plan growth and changes (capacity planning) Work as part of a team and provide 24x7 support when required Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support. Patch Management and Version Control Setting up and testing new database and data handling systems Define, populate, manage and control data dictionary, generate schema, subschema, and grant / control permissions on its usage. Follow escalation procedure to vendor and follow up until getting the issue resolved, receive and create an RCA and create action plan for permanent fix if required. Coordinate for installation of database software, setup installation parameters, monitor system performance and carryout fine tuning. Coordinate for installation of software patches, study its impact on operational systems and recommend enhancements. Prepare and implement data migration strategies based on business need and vendor best practice. Coordinate for Database client installation and management. Monitor system behavior during normal / peak hours with optimum / full workload and establish performance baselines. Regularly monitor system performance against baselines, and recommend / carryout restructuring, re-location, re-organization of the databases for improvement. Prepare utilities & general purpose scripts for its wide spread usage throughout the development and operational environment. Maintain log of all events and assist application maintenance staff in bug tracing and fixing. Prepare and maintain all related technical documentation. Expertize in database backups, recovery and disaster planning. Design and implement security procedures for database access. establishing the needs of users and monitoring user access and security; monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users; mapping out the conceptual design for a planned database; considering both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users; refining the logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model; further refining the physical design to meet system storage requirements; Installing and testing new versions of the Databases. Maintaining data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act. Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata). Controlling access permissions and privileges. Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans. ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly; capacity planning; handling new project ,working closely with IT project managers, database programmers and multimedia programmers; communicating regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security; Commissioning and installing new applications and customizing existing applications in order to make them fit for purpose.
