Job Title: Production Engineer Fabrication Division
Department: Production / Manufacturing
Location: Spectrum Electrical Industries Ltd.
Reporting To: Production Manager / Plant Head

Our Fabrication Division is equipped with high-tech CNC stamping, bending, welding, and other precision fabrication technologies to serve top-tier clients with quality and efficiency.
Job Purpose:
To ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely production of sheet metal parts in the Fabrication Division by overseeing daily operations, improving production processes, maintaining quality standards, and supporting strategic manufacturing goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Planning & Execution:
- Plan and execute daily/weekly production schedules based on customer orders and internal requirements.
- Monitor and control fabrication processes such as stamping, CNC bending, MIG/TIG/spot welding, and laser cutting.
- Coordinate with planning and design teams for process feasibility and design-for-manufacturability reviews.
2. Process Optimization:
- Analyze and improve production efficiency by identifying bottlenecks, reducing downtime, and implementing lean manufacturing practices.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for fabrication processes.
- Drive initiatives for cycle time reduction, tooling optimization, and scrap minimization.
3. Technical Operations Management:
- Ensure effective operation and maintenance of high-tech machines such as CNC press brakes, power presses, robotic welders, and laser cutting machines.
- Conduct tooling trials and support tool room for die setup and changeover.
- Collaborate with maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules.
4. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with internal and customer-defined quality standards (ISO, customer audits).
- Coordinate with QA/QC for in-process inspection, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Promote zero-defect production through mistake-proofing (Poka-yoke) and visual management.
5. People & Safety Management:
- Supervise and train production operators and technicians in best practices.
- Ensure safe working conditions and adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards.
- Promote team involvement and accountability on the shop floor.
6. Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain production records, downtime analysis, and KPI dashboards.
- Generate shift reports, OEE reports, and monthly performance summaries.
- Support audits with process documentation and traceability.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and machinery.
- Hands-on experience with CNC machines, welding techniques, and process fixtures.
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and using tools like AutoCAD/SolidWorks.
- Good understanding of lean manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and Kaizen.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities (e.g., using 7 QC tools, root cause analysis).
- Team management and effective communication skills.
