Position Summary We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the University's ERP management, IT infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, digital platforms, and related technology initiatives. The CTO will be responsible for managing the University's ERP platform, maintaining robust IT safety and security measures, developing IT policies, ensuring seamless networking across the campus, and supporting digital innovation projects including website and cloud-based services. This role is strategic and operational, requiring hands-on expertise as well as leadership vision to ensure VGUs technological excellence and digital transformation. Key Responsibilities 1. ERP Management: Administer and optimize the University's ERP system for admissions, fees, examinations, faculty attendance, leave management, and administrative workflows. Coordinate with TCS support teams and internal stakeholders for ERP maintenance, upgrades, issue resolutions, and custom developments. Ensure user training, documentation, system audits, and process improvements for enhanced ERP utilization. 2. IT Infrastructure and Networking Management: Supervise end-to-end IT infrastructure including servers, broadband networks, Wi-Fi access points, firewall systems, backup systems, and related hardware/software assets. Ensure 24/7 uptime, reliability, scalability, and high-performance networking across all campuses and facilities. Plan and execute hardware/software procurement and upgrades aligned with the Universitys growth needs. 3. IT Safety, Security, and Compliance: Establish and enforce IT security protocols to safeguard University systems, data, and user privacy. Conduct periodic IT risk assessments, cybersecurity audits, and data protection drills. Implement security layers for email servers, ERP access, Wi-Fi networks, and cloud platforms. 4. IT Policy Development and Governance: Formulate, update, and implement comprehensive IT policies covering ERP usage, data governance, information security, acceptable use, disaster recovery, and system access controls. Ensure alignment of IT operations with UGC, AICTE, NAAC, and other statutory compliance requirements. Conduct training sessions and awareness campaigns for faculty, staff, and students on IT best practices and cybersecurity hygiene. 5. Website and Digital Initiatives: Oversee the Universitys website management, ensuring content integrity, uptime, security, and user experience optimization. Support marketing teams in web-based campaigns and digital outreach initiatives. Lead the adoption of digital platforms for administrative, academic, and research functions (e.g., learning management systems, online admission portals). 6. Leadership and Team Management: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing IT and ERP support team. Foster a collaborative culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence across technology functions. Qualifications & Requirements Educational Qualification: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related disciplines (mandatory). Master's degree (M.Tech, MBA-IT, or related fields) preferred. Professional Experience: 1015 years of progressive IT leadership experience, ideally in higher education institutions, consulting firms, large enterprises, or technology service providers. Strong hands-on experience with ERP management (TCS iON, SAP, Oracle PeopleSoft, or similar platforms). Extensive experience in network administration, cybersecurity management, and IT operations leadership. Technical Expertise: ERP Systems Management Networking (LAN/WAN/Firewall/Cloud Networking) Cybersecurity (endpoint protection, intrusion detection, email security, compliance management) IT Policy drafting and implementation Web technologies and CMS platforms Server Administration (Linux, Windows Server Environments) Core Skills: Strategic thinking with strong execution capabilities. Excellent project management, vendor management, and budgeting skills. Strong problem-solving, crisis management, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with academic, administrative, and technical teams. Reporting To CEO of the University.
