Job Description
This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of data science and business strategy, and is passionate about applying AI to make life insurance more accessible, personalized, and efficient.
A skilled and business-oriented Data Scientist to join Data Science & Analytics team and drive data-led decision-making across the life insurance value chain. To solve key business problems such as improving customer acquisition, underwriting, cross-sell, persistency, and claims using advanced analytics and AI (and GenAI).
To collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Sales, Marketing, Risk, and Actuarial to build predictive models, segment customers, optimize campaigns, and design intelligent automation solutions. To extract insights from complex datasets, creating machine learning pipelines, and deploying scalable models that directly impact business growth and efficiency.
Key Focus Areas:
- To drive data-driven strategy, solving business problems using data & decision science
- Be actively involved in taking key decisions for the company, charting out how we play in the competitive landscape.
- To Chalk out Analytical solutions and strutured approach, to solve complex business problems
- To identify friction points for the customers, and producing innovative ideas/solutions
- To analyze structured and unstructured data to generate actionable insights, to derive insights & actionables to steer business.
- To collaborate with Business stakeholders such as Product, Marketing, Sales, Risk, Underwrting, Customer Service and Actuarial teams, to make tangible business impact leveraging data and AI
- To Develop statisitcal/predictive/ ML & GenAI models, if required, to solve the business problem
Qualifications & Competencies:
- A problem solver at heart, first-principles thinker, enjoy challenging status quo, coming up with non-traditional solutions to traditional problems, love numbers, are married to technology and have a bias for action.
- 4-8 years of hands-on and strong experience in core Advanced Analytics, Data Science, and Predictive Modeling/ML/AI & GenAI
- Proficiency in statistical data analysis and modeling tools such as SQL, Python and respective libraries
- Good knowledge of statistics and predictive modeling concepts
- Experience in Amazon Web Services (Lamda, SNS, SQS, RDS, EC2, KMS, etc.) environment, Sagemaker and QuickSight preferred
- Insurance, other banking/financial industry, FinTech, HealhTech experience preferred
- Understanding of Credit Risk Assessment, alternate risk scoring, credit profiling & segmentation, dynamic pricing model based on risk profile, fraud prevention preferred.
- Understanding of Google Analytics suite, Google Cloud & BigQuery preferred.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology / Statistics or MBA from a premium B school
