Job Description


Cake Decoration:

  • Decorate cakes using a variety of techniques, including fondant, butter cream, royal icing, and other decorative materials.
  • Create intricate and visually appealing designs that align with customer specifications, including themed cakes, custom designs, and seasonal decorations.
  • Use piping techniques, sugar flowers, edible glitter, and other tools to enhance cake presentation.
  • Design custom cakes for special events such as weddings, birthdays, and corporate functions based on customer requests.

Health and Safety Compliance:


  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
  • Ensure that the work area and equipment are cleaned and maintained according to food safety standards.
  • Adhere to all workplace safety guidelines, including the safe handling of sharp tools and kitchen equipment.


Inventory and Stock Management:


  • Monitor the inventory of cake decorating supplies and ingredients (e.g., fondant, icing, decorations) and notify management when stock is low.
  • Properly store ingredients and materials to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
  • Assist in managing supplies and ensuring that materials are used efficiently.

Team Collaboration:


  • Work closely with other bakery staff to ensure efficient production and smooth operation.
  • Assist in training junior cake decorators or new team members.

Collaborate with the kitchen and management teams to meet the daily and weekly production needs.Qualifications and Skills:


  • Proven experience as a Cake Decorator or in a similar role within the baking industry.
  • Expertise in cake decoration techniques, including piping, fondant, and sugar art.
  • Creativity and an eye for detail in creating custom cake designs.
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings as needed.
