JOB DESCRIPTION PROJECT ENGINEER Job Summary The purpose of this position is to lead individual, multi-disciplined project / Open book Jobs, solutions for clients, with direct accountability for project delivery.

Characteristics of responsible projects:

Mechanical/Civil/plumbing/Fabrication/infrastructure/safety. Complexity: Medium Risk: Medium

Duration: FTC

Essential duties and Responsibilities Manages all facets of project management (budget, schedule, procurement, quality & risk) for individual projects including project sales support, planning, design, construction, handover and closeout.

  • Demonstrates capability to read, understand and apply standard to moderately complex documents affecting projects, including but not limited to: agreements/contracts, leases, work letters, project charters, surveys and drawings.
  • Interfaces directly with clients to define project requirements. Prepares scope of work, project delivery resource requirements, cost estimate & budget, work plan schedule & milestones, quality control, and risk identification.
  • Establish and maintain a usable and well-communicated schedule for all phases of a project
  • Identifies project delivery resources from pre-qualified lists or through individual project qualification process; conducts standard request for proposals; completes bid analysis; recommends resources to clients.
  • Leads project delivery resources/team providing project guidance and direction to achieve project goals.
  • Implements communication plan for meetings and written reports/meeting minutes to keep client and project resources informed. Facilitates project meetings.
  • Implements project documentation governance aligned with company and Client requirements. Ensure project data integrity and documentation is accurate, timely and coordinated.
  • Ensure adherence to project management processes/workflows developed.
  • Ensure project meets internal and client expectations with respect to quality,
  • Tracks progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets, approved timelines. Reports status and variances. Creates action plans to meet objectives, budget and schedule.
  • Identify, track, manage and mitigate risk on specific client engagements. Escalate these issues when necessary to ensure minimal impact to quality, budget, and timeline.
  • Implements change management routines to assess change requests, make recommendations, secure client approvals, and issue change orders. Assesses change requests to determine impacts to scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk.
  • Demonstrates ability to identify project risks, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks.
  • Accurately forecasts revenue, profitability, margins and proactively manages costs at a project level. Assures project legal documents are completed and signed.
  • Follows up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
  • Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Builds a knowledge base of each clients business, organization and objectives.
  • Develops lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties.
  • Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Proving Weekly/monthly updates to the client.
  • Creating awareness across the region on commercial models, key terms, KPIs, pricing mechanism, contractual obligation in relation to the projects mandate.
  • Ensuring consistency is service delivery across all projects.
  • Ensuring interim project case studies are produced within a month of project award and finalised within a month after project completion.
  • Conducting regular project reviews (say fortnightly basis) to ensure full compliance with KPIs and deliverables.
  • Maintaining rate card across all countries (supported by regional projects head and finance)
  • In conjunction with the assigned project manager, overseeing the vendor management and contract management to mitigate any risks particularly related to compliance.
  • In conjunction with the assigned project manager and in-country/account finance, managing the margin levers including Purchased Income, Volume rebates etc.
  • Maintaining a tracker for vendor retention sums, if any, to be released upon completion of warrant periods. Project teams to input data for their respective projects.
  • Ensuring proactive billings by the project teams to client and payment to downstream vendors Supervisory Responsibilities
  • No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan and supervise assignments of lower-level employees. Education and Experience
  • Minimum five years of related experience and/or training with at least two years focused on principal contracting model of delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing low to medium complexity projects
  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to execute projects on time and on budget.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

  • Ability to communicate effectively and fluently. Certificates and/or Licenses
  • LEED AP preferred
  • PMP preferred Communication Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. Financial Knowledge
  • Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.
  • Understands basic revenue models, margin, fee forecast and cost-to-completion projections
  • Understand pricing model and billing procedures. Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills Other skills and Abilities
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and understand architectural drawings. Knowledge in MS Project, leases, contracts, and construction practices.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Scope of Responsibility
  • Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor. Addition to the above: 1. Project documentation Test reports, Calibration reports, warranty certification, commissioning reports. SOP of O& M - post project completion. As build Drawings and Layout submission. Vendor escalation matrix. Legal approval documents. OEM recommendation spares list. 2. Quality inspection / checks during project execution. Scope activity / EHS / and future maintenance purview. 3. Training on system to operations team post project completion.
