Construction Manager Civil @ Live Connections.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the complete construction lifecycle of high-voltage substation projects from mobilization to commissioning.

• Lead and supervise on-site construction teams including contractors, engineers, and inspectors.

• Coordinate with design, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure design-to-construction alignment.

• Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and scope documents.

• Monitor construction progress, schedule, costs, and quality using project management tools.

• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.

• Interface with clients, utility partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure workmanship meets required standards.

• Oversee subcontractor performance and approve progress claims and invoices.

• Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and avoid project delays.

• Lead daily and weekly site meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

• Maintain project documentation, logs, and reports for QA/QC and compliance purposes.

• Ensure commissioning and handover are done seamlessly in coordination with operations teams.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
  (Masters Degree preferred but not mandatory.)

• 1520 years of progressive experience in substation construction, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

• Proven expertise in EHV and HV substations (GIS & AIS) construction (66kV to 765kV).

• Strong knowledge of IEC/IEEE/NEMA standards, construction methodologies, and utility practices.

• Experience with EPC contracts, FIDIC, and large infrastructure projects.

• Familiarity with HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) best practices and risk management.

• Proficient in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, etc.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

• PMP or equivalent certification is an advantage.
