Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - SPM & Packing Machines @ Best Enterprises

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in packaging machine and SPM design. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of leading end-to-end design from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop packaging machines like Filling, Weighing, Pouch packing, Cartoning, and Over wrapping systems.
• Work on custom SPM projects with mechanical assemblies and automation component.
• Create detailed 3D models, assembly drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks
• Select suitable materials, mechanical components, tolerances, and machining processes
• Coordinate with fabrication, machining, and assembly teams for manufacturing support
• Ensure design quality, manufacturability, and functional reliability of machines
  

Required Skills:

• Expertise in SolidWorks (mandatory)
• Strong knowledge of fabrication, machining, material selection, and GD&T
• Experience in conceptual design, detailed design, machining design, and BOM preparation
• Familiarity with pouch packing, cartoning, or flow wrapping machines is highly desirable
• Ability to speak Tamil fluently or at least conversationally (required for shopfloor coordination)
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in machine design
