Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Field Application Engineer (FAE) to join our team in the EV Powertrain Manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, product demonstrations, troubleshooting, and solutions to customers across India. You will be the direct link between the company and customers, ensuring the successful application, installation, and integration of our EV powertrain systems. This role requires regular travel to meet clients, strong communication skills in multiple languages, and hands-on knowledge of motors, EV controllers, and mechanical fitting of motors.Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Support & Relationship Management:
- Travel extensively across India to meet with clients, understand their needs, and provide tailored solutions.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, ensuring that their queries are answered promptly and effectively.
- Build strong, lasting relationships with customers by offering personalized technical assistance and ongoing support.
- Technical Consultation & Problem Solving:
- Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support for EV powertrain solutions, including motors, controllers, and related components.
- Assist customers in selecting the appropriate products based on their specific requirements and applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to motor performance, controller functionality, and system integration.
- Conduct in-field testing and validation to ensure the optimal performance of installed EV powertrain systems.
- Product Training & Demonstrations:
- Conduct on-site product demonstrations, installations, and training sessions for customers, ensuring they have a comprehensive understanding of product functionality and maintenance.
- Create and deliver presentations on product features, benefits, and best practices for implementation.
- System Integration & Mechanical Fitting:
- Provide hands-on support for the mechanical fitting of motors, controllers, and other powertrain components at customer sites.
- Advise on proper integration techniques, including wiring, mounting, and system alignment, to ensure seamless system operation.
- Field Data Collection & Reporting:
- Collect valuable field data and feedback from customers to relay to the engineering team for product improvements and enhancements.
- Compile and submit detailed reports of field activities, including installation progress, troubleshooting outcomes, and customer feedback.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the sales, engineering, and product development teams to communicate customer needs and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to support the continuous improvement of EV powertrain systems based on customer insights.
- Travel Requirements:
- Travel frequently (up to 70-80% of the time) to customer sites across India, providing on-site support and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Adapt to varying regional needs and communication styles, as the role requires interacting with clients across diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education:
- Diploma in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with experience or B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics freshers
- Prior experience working in a field engineering or technical support, or a similar role, preferably in the automotive sector, EV, or powertrain industries is a plus
- Experience:
- Hands-on experience with motors, EV controllers, and mechanical fitting processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with electric powertrain systems, motor control, and integration is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of electric vehicle powertrain components such as electric motors, controllers, batteries, and related systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
- Basic mechanical skills, including the ability to perform system assembly, integration, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues.
- Languages:
- Proficiency in English is essential, with the ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken forms.
- Knowledge of additional languages (e.g., Hindi) is highly desirable, as the role requires working across diverse regions in India.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a simple and clear manner.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while traveling and handling multiple client accounts.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think on your feet and adapt to fast-changing environments.
- Customer-focused with a strong passion for helping clients achieve success with our products.
- Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel frequently within India (up to 70-80% of the time).
- Comfortable working in diverse environments and adjusting to varying customer needs.
- Valid drivers license and the ability to travel between customer sites and locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electric vehicle powertrain systems is desirable
- Familiarity with EV-related software tools and diagnostics equipment.
- Prior experience working in a field engineering or customer support role within the automotive sector is desirable
