Location: Powai, Mumbai

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification & Experience

Applicants must meet one of the following:

• B.Tech. / B.E. / M.Sc. or equivalent degree

  • With minimum 1 year of relevant post-qualification experience

OR

• Bachelors degree (other than B.Tech. / B.E.)

  • In disciplines such as Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication, Computer Science, IT, Computer Applications, or Computer Management

  • With minimum 4 years of relevant post-qualification experience

Essential Skills & Experience

Candidates must have hands-on experience with:

• Administration of Linux, Windows, and MacOS systems

• Setting up and managing computer networks (LAN/Wi-Fi)

• Administering mail, proxy, DNS, and web services on Linux-based servers

• Shell scripting and GNU/Linux system administration (1+ years)

• Basic knowledge of network/server troubleshooting and Linux-based virtualization

Desirable Skills

• Setting up and maintaining backup systems, networking, and mirrors

• Experience with automated system installations across multiple machines

• Familiarity with video content storage and delivery systems

• Managing HPC clusters and high-throughput systems

• Administration of Windows and Mac environments in addition to Linux

• Working knowledge of data center equipment setup and management

Job Responsibilities

The Technical Superintendent will be responsible for:

• Administering and maintaining systems based on Linux, Windows, and MacOS

• Managing LAN and Wi-Fi infrastructure within academic departments

• Troubleshooting operating system and network issues

• Deploying network-based services on virtual machines

• Managing departmental email, DNS, web, and proxy services on Linux servers

• Collaborating with the Computer Centre for centralized IT support

Compensation & Career Path

• Initial Appointment:

  • Pay Level 6: 35,400 1,12,400

  • Includes Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, HRA, Transport Allowance, and other admissible allowances

  • Tenure: 3 years (contractual), as per Institute norms

• Promotion:

  • Eligible for placement to Pay Level 7 (44,900 1,42,400) based on performance and institute policies
