Job Description
- QMS Implementation & Maintenance: Establishment and maintain a robust QMS, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and obtaining necessary certifications and customer approvals.
- Statistical Process Control (SPC): Implement SPC techniques to monitor and control critical processes, ensuring product consistency and quality.
- Digital Transformation: Drive the transition to a paperless department by introducing quality software for data collection and analysis across in-house, associate, and vendor processes.
- New Product Development: Oversee the quality aspects of new product development, ensuring adherence to quality standards from inception to production.
- Process Documentation: Develop and maintain process flow charts and quality plans for all in-house processes, ensuring clarity and standardization.
- Complaint Management: Effectively handle both internal and external complaints, conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) within specified timelines.
- Inspection & Testing: Ensure timely inspection and testing at various stages incoming, in-process, final, and supplier/vendor units according to the established plan.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify weak areas in processes and implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance overall plant and associate performance.
- Project Management: Ensure the successful and timely completion of Third-Party Inspections (TPI), Indian Boiler Regulation (IBR), and Project Orders.
- Supplier Quality Management: Implement and monitor supplier quality improvement plans to ensure consistent quality from external sources.
- Team Development: Build and lead an effective QA team, focusing on skill enhancement and knowledge development of each member.
- Reporting: Develop and deliver timely and accurate reports on quality metrics and performance.
- Additional Assignments: Undertake additional tasks as assigned by management to support organizational objectives.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Experience: 10 - 12 years of experience in quality management roles, with a strong understanding of QMS, API, ASME, ASTM standards, and NDT requirements relevant to the product range.
- Certifications: Qualified Internal Auditor for ISO standards; certified in NDT processes such as Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Magnetic Particle Testing (MP).
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems; adept in applying and analyzing SPC techniques in critical processes.
- Inspection Expertise: Experience in the inspection of castings, forgings, machined components, and special processes like welding, painting, and heat treatment.
- Process Knowledge: Understanding of Process Failure Modes and the ability to incorporate inspection/test plans to detect or reduce occurrences at various inspection stages.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in computer applications and presentation tools, including AI-based tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines without compromising product quality.
