Job Description

EPS/UPF Engineer with Tandem Migration
1. Team:
The BASE24-eps and UPF Engineer role is within WNZLs Tandem Migration project. This project is currently
migrating all card processing from a legacy system (BASE24-Classic on HPE Nonstop) to new strategic platforms
(BASE24-eps and UPF on Linux).
2. Project Overview:
Modernise transaction processing for WNZL Merchants and Cardholders. The Tandem Migration initiative has been
created and approved in order to streamline customer, compliance and regulatory development, delivery and support
through:
- An open system that allows us integration to API-type systems
- Introducing changes through scripting
- Automation delivers 24/7 testing with no human contact. DevOps with automated CI/CD pipelines
- Bringing support in-house
3. Core skillsets required are,
- BASE24-eps and UPF
- C++, Java, Python
- Strong technical writing ability documentation of technical components
- Software Development Lifecycle under an Agile model with great emphasis on Shift-Left methodology
4. WNZL operational tools experience with these tools highly recommended

5. Functional Requirements:
Discovery is undertaken to allow development and testing to start.
- Analyse and document the existing BASE24-POS and BASE24-ATM code
- Design and document the solution for BASE24-eps & UPF
- Obtain WNZL architecture and engineering approval to proceed
Development, unit, system and integration testing
- Complete all development in BASE24-eps and UPF
- Complete all development for reporting/extracts
- Support automation & functional testing
- Support Performance testing
- Create pipelines to enable the implementation of the developed work to the different environments
- Support the creation of monitoring and automated alerting rules in the WNZL systems,e.g, Elasticsearch,
Splunk, PagerDuty etc
Implementation and warranty
- Production pilot/s if required
- Production deployment
- Runbooks and any other documentation handed over to Technical Owning Squad.
- 30 Day Warranty period completed successfully.
Support Program Management by providing input to the following areas.
- Timeline management
- Dependency and Risk Management
- Stakeholder management/engagement
