Job Title: PCB Test Engineer & Assembly Team LeadJob Description:
Overview:
We are a medical device manufacturer seeking a technically proficient PCB Test Engineer who can troubleshoot and resolve PCB-related issues in-house, answer fundamental electronics queries, and lead a small assembly team. The ideal candidate combines hands-on electronics expertise with strong leadership and communication skills.Key Responsibilities:
PCB Testing & Troubleshooting:
- Perform functional and diagnostic tests on PCB assemblies.
- Identify, isolate, and resolve electronic faults using test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters).
- Implement corrective actions and validate fixes to ensure product reliability.
Technical Support & Knowledge Sharing:
- Serve as the in-house electronics expertfield basic questions from assembly technicians and cross-functional teams.
- Document test procedures, common failure modes, and best-practice solutions.
Team Leadership & Training:
- Lead and mentor a team of assembly workers, providing hands-on training in PCB handling and testing protocols.
- Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
Process Improvement & SOP Compliance:
- Develop and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for PCB inspection and testing.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to drive continuous improvement in assembly yield and defect reduction.
Reporting & Communication:
- Maintain clear records of test results, defect analyses, and corrective actions.
- Report technical findings to engineering leadership and recommend design or process changes.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma or degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or equivalent.Experience:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in PCB testing, troubleshooting, and repair preferably within medical devices or precision electronics.
- Prior experience leading or supervising a small technical team is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient with electronic test instruments (oscilloscope, signal generator, multimeter).
- Strong understanding of PCB layout, soldering techniques, and component-level electronics.
- Familiarity with schematic reading and basic circuit analysis.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Clear communication style, able to translate technical concepts for non-engineers.
- Demonstrated leadership and coaching capability.
