Job Description
Role & responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled Piping Design Engineer with strong expertise in Autodesk Plant 3D and a solid background in mechanical design for industrial projects. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in various piping and layout-related deliverables and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review GA drawings, Equipment layouts, Foundation layouts, Piping routing, Piping Layouts, Piping Isometrics, Pipe Supports, Tank drawings, Platform, and structure drawings and BOQ using Autodesk Plant 3D.
- Can read, understand and identify the P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Coordinate with design, process, engineering, and site erection team.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, piping standards, drawing standards, project specifications and scope.
- Support site team with design clarifications and resolve technical queries.
- Prepare documentation and drawing deliverables for project milestones and client approvals.
- Travel to project sites (~10%) for site supervision, and project coordination with site execution teams.
Preferred candidate profile
Educational Qualification:
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 6 years relevant industry experience, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
Mandatory Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Plant 3D.
- Sound knowledge of piping codes, materials, and industrial design standards.
- Experience in preparing all key design deliverables in piping and layout engineering.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
Added Advantages (Not Mandatory):
- Willingness to travel to project sites (approx. 10% of the time) for supervision and coordination.
- Familiarity with pipe stress analysis tools such as CAESAR II.
- Experience with SolidWorks for mechanical modeling or layout integration.
