Qualifications:

• Education : Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.


• Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in server administration.


• Certifications : Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Server+, and VMware Certified Professional (VCP).

Job Summary:

The Server Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of the organization s server infrastructure. This role ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the information systems that support core organizational functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Server Setup and Configuration : Install and configure server hardware and software, including operating systems and applications.


• System Monitoring : Monitor server performance and ensure system availability and reliability.


• Security Management : Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.


• Backup and Recovery : Perform regular backups and develop disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.


• Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly to minimize downtime.


• User Support : Provide technical support and guidance to users and other IT staff.


• Documentation : Maintain detailed documentation of server configurations, procedures, and changes.


• System Upgrades : Plan and execute server upgrades, patches, and new installations.


• Compliance : Ensure systems comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Technical Skills:

• Server Operating Systems : Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, and other server operating systems.


• Networking : Strong understanding of network protocols, configurations, and security.


• Virtualization : Experience with server virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.


• Security : Knowledge of security measures, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.


• Scripting : Ability to write and understand scripts (e. g. , PowerShell, Bash) for automation and management tasks.


• Backup and Recovery : Experience with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning.
