Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified professional for the position of Assistant Manager ED Facility Coding. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in Emergency Department (ED) facility coding, possess strong leadership qualities, and have a proven track record of managing coding teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the ED Facility Coding team.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant coding of ED facility records in accordance with official coding guidelines and client requirements.
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to a team of coders.
- Monitor productivity and quality metrics, and implement improvement initiatives as needed.
- Collaborate with internal QA teams and clients to resolve discrepancies or escalations.
- Ensure team adherence to HIPAA and other relevant compliance standards.
- Conduct regular audits and provide feedback to enhance coding accuracy and performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in medical coding, with significant exposure to ED Facility coding.
- Certified coder (e.g., CPC, CCS) certification is mandatory.
- Proven experience in team handling or supervisory roles.
- Strong understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in client communication and reporting.
