Job Description
Role & responsibilities
To develop and execute a Product Strategy and all Product/ Proposition Development & Technical activities necessary for a coherent market leading presence that supports the achievement of distribution reach/ profit and growth objectives. To support customer outcomes throughout the life of the product through outstanding product governance and management controls.
Preferred candidate profile
- In conjunction channel sales management, develop Product Proposition Strategy and plans (to include approved budgetary requirements) to support each of the distribution channels, providing for sufficient flexibility in application to respond to changing demands and needs.
- Make compelling the broad range of propositional points we have across the businesses so that it aids growth, improves profitability and fits into the agreed strategy for Mutual Funds
- Own, develop and lead all aspects of market research (including competitor activity), analysis and broader recommendations around outcomes and findings to support decisions on future strategy and plans
- Ensure Mutual Funds products/ propositions are launched and maintained in line with the Product Development Model and Product Risk Reviews so that the needs and expectations of the customers are met and in line with Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly Policy
- Coordinate the functions, management and staff across the Mutual Funds business to form a coherent single Product function focused on supporting the business in the delivery of its business objectives.
- To ensure that changes to products, literature, systems and processes meet regulatory, statutory and professional requirements whilst maintaining operational and product integrity.
- Build relationships with senior stakeholders around the business in such areas as Compliance, Distribution and ensure that best practice is shared with equivalent Product Directors in other Business Units.
- Develop and manage high performing, effective product development and technical functions to deliver

- Product Thought-leadership for digital and new platforms for the future delivery of products to customers and channels

OTHER SKILLS :-
- Very strong knowledge of Mutual Fund Products
- Proven track record of delivering Product development and profitable growth
- Experience of delivering high quality (board level) presentations, reports and plans
- Clear experience and understanding of regulation and governance
- An experienced Product professional with demonstrable expertise across a wide range of the sub functions
- Very strong knowledge of marketing techniques in the areas for which responsible.
