Senior Business Analyst SAP Variant Configuration

The Cognex Business Applications team provides business processes, platform, and technology expertise to support our global systems, both back office and front office tools, by designing / improving business processes, managing complex implementation projects, providing user support, training, and keeping the business application landscape up and running 24/7. In addition, the Business Applications team helps optimize the use of all business applications in a cost-effective manner to support and enhance Cognexs overall success.


The Role:

The Senior Business Analyst, SAP Variant Configuration, will be a core member of the Cognex Business Applications Team within IT working closely with the business organization to drive continuous improvement by developing timely and innovative solutions. This role will work closely with business groups to understand business problems, issues, and priorities and will provide production support activities as well as new functional enhancements and global project implementations. The successful candidate will have experience implementing, supporting, and enhancing solutions on the SAP platform focusing on Variant Configuration. Collaboration with other SAP functional and development teams to design, develop, test, and implement appropriate configuration within SAP S/4 is essential.


Responsibilities:

This role resides in the Noida, India office supporting global users. The Senior Business Analyst, SAP VC is responsible for solution design and realization, as well as testing, deployment and support with a focus on Variant Configuration and its integration with the SD, MM and PP module areas and Salesforce. This includes designing end to end process solutions, writing RICEF documents, working with developers, defining dependencies, defining the configuration profile, unit testing, working with business users for user acceptance testing, performing cutover tasks, identifying master data and ongoing process impacts, and providing ongoing support. Identifying integration points and working with other SAP Functional and Technical team members to ensure solution success is a critical responsibility.


Key Experience Requirements:

  • 6+ years functional experience with SAP Variant Configuration.
  • 4+ years SAP configuration experience, preferably with experience in S/4 Hana.
  • Experience defining configuration profiles and dependencies.
  • Experience defining variant tables.
  • Functional experience with integration with Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM-PU) and Production Planning (PP).
  • Knowledgeable in master data across the SD, MM and PP module areas.
  • Experienced with pricing procedures and price determination using Variant Configuration.
  • Experience with Variant procurement with configuration settings in the sales order driving the selection for a sales order dependent procurement.
  • Experience in a full cycle global SAP implementation or SAP system upgrade following a waterfall or agile methodology.
  • Experience in understanding and gathering Business rules, Business requirements and end user cases.
  • The candidate must be able to design processes and sub-processes and to think through the implications of those designs taking integration with Sales and Distribution (SD) and Salesforce. The candidate must be able to provide cross functional flow diagrams depicting the integrated process.
  • Create functional requirements within a RICEF (Reports Interfaces Conversion Enhancement and Form) document and work collaboratively with a developer to deliver an effective solution.
  • Must be detail oriented, self-directed and have strong independent problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaborate closely with others to accomplish business objectives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time management skills are a must; as well as the ability to be flexible and creative.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Bachelors degree required.
